MDAR Issues Policy Change Regarding Pesticide Credit Upload

EE ePlace Portal Account:

“Massachusetts CEU documents can no longer be uploaded to each person’s EE ePlace Portal Account outside of the renewal period, which usually begins in October.  The following is why the agency made the policy change.  The following link brings you to a guide on the uploading process.

The changes to the Amendment Application were implemented to address issues and confusion surrounding training credits and renewals. While the Department used to allow updates to Training Credits outside of renewals, the MDAR found that many applicants uploaded the same exact credits again and again via Amendment Applications and then again during annual renewals via the Renewal Application.

The repeated use of the Amendment Applications to update the Training Credits often gave the appearance of having met the total required training requirements, when in fact the applicant had not.  And since the uploaded training certificates are stored within the Application itself, this also put a significant burden on staff who then had to review each individual Amendment Application and each annual Renewal Application—to verify the true number of distinct Pesticide Training credits earned vs. the sum total of the same exact training credits repeatedly submitted via Amendment Applications and Renewal applications. The Amendment Application is of course still available to Pesticide Applicators , but serves only to publish changes or updates made via the Account Management Tools e.g. contact information or to update employer information, and insurance information.

In summary, earned Pesticide Training credits will now only be claimed and uploaded via annual Renewal Applications.  Licensees should carefully maintain all Pesticide Training Certificates or CEUs; such that they can upload the electronic copies during their Annual Renewal Application process which begins in October.
