On January 15, 2020, MALCP held their 2020 Winter Lawn Care Conference (WLCC) at the Sturbridge Host Hotel & Conference Center, Sturbridge MA. This was a great opportunity for everyone in the Lawn Care and Green Industries, such as: Lawn Care Professionals, Sports Turf Managers, Golf Course Personnel, Landscapers, and Municipal/Institutional Groundskeepers, to meet and interact.
Michael Stachowitz, Program Manager/National Park Service, presented a talk on “Managing High Traffic Turf-A Sustainable Approach to the Rehabilitation of the National Mall”.
The National Park Service, over the past decade, has used a multi-prong approach to rehabilitate the Mall which included reconstruction, agronomy programs, and event management.
