Highlights 2022 Annual Meeting

The 2022 MALCP Annual Meeting was held on a foggy day at the Wayside Inn, Sudbury MA on December 7. A good crowd was present to hear Steve Boksanski and Warren Lent deliver “The Beacon Hill Report” chronicling election results and the value of participation through getting to know your State Representatives and State Senators where you live and work. We look forward to working with newly elected Governor Maura Healy and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll on upcoming issues.

Executive Director, Karen Connelly, thanked members who attended meetings in cities and towns, organized efforts to boost attendance at Town Meetings where issues of concern to MALCP members were on the agenda; thanks to those who participated in Green Careers at Essex Tech and to President Joe Szczechowicz for inviting Senator Lovely who sits on the Senate Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change to come watch the educational session given by MALCP members. She was very impressed that industry professionals were willing to take time from their businesses to teach young people. Equally impressive to her was learning about the Benefits of Healthy Turf including the large role that lawns and grasses play in Carbon Sequestration.

The Membership Committee will be commencing a member drive. Tom Mauer distributed newly designed information/application forms to attendees.

Both the Benefits of Healthy Turf and newly designed membership flyer are included in this email for you to use.
